Core Features

The optical tools at the heart of CineTraits.

Character Trait System

Every lens is mapped with character traits — flare, bokeh, distortion, sharpness and more. Lab-tested lenses carry verified traits; analysed lenses carry research-based traits.

Visual Lens Tests

Each tested lens has a comprehensive suite of real-world tests. View video and stills, compare f-stops side by side, and make your own visual judgements.

Deep Dive Videos

Every lab-tested lens set comes with curated video content — a free teaser for everyone and a full Deep Dive for premium members.

AI Deep Discovery

Search naturally for something like 'a lens with warm flares and smooth bokeh'. Our AI searches the entire database and scores results for you.

Viewing & Analysis Tools

Built-in utilities that enhance your lens testing experience.

Resolution Settings

Control image and video quality across the platform — from fast compressed loading to full-resolution 6K+ stills and 2160p video.

Acquisition & Format Selector

Switch between different acquisition formats to see how the same lens performs across cameras, sensor modes, and recording codecs.

Frame Guides

Overlay aspect ratio guides on any lens test image to see exactly how a lens renders within your target delivery format.

Fullscreen Compare Mode

Compare lens results side by side in a fullscreen workspace — with a reference wipe, plus unlinked f-stop and movement controls. An Indie tier feature.
