Discover
The Discover page allows you to look and search lenses by visual test data straight away. Pick a test category and see how the lens performs visually. The fastest and most dynamic way to playfully discover new lenses and the way they look.
How It Works
Choose a test category from the Discover landing page — flare, bokeh, sharpness, distortion, and more. You'll be presented with a visual grid showing test stills from every lab-tested lens for that category. Switch between sub-tests, change f-stop, and browse through multiple stills per lens. It's the fastest way to see how different glass renders the same scene.

Test Categories & Sub-Tests
Each test category contains multiple sub-tests — for example, Flare includes Sun Test, Night Flare, and Specular Highlights. Select a category to load the grid, then switch between sub-tests using the pill bar. The active category and sub-test are always visible, so you never lose context. Watch the illustration below cycle through categories automatically.
Filtering & Grouping
Use the toolbar to filter by brand, aperture, mount, era, and character traits. Group the grid by any badge to see lenses organised by their optical personality — for example, group by Flare Character to see all warm-flare lenses together, separated by dividers. This makes it easy to compare lenses within the same character bracket.
Grid Density Controls
Adjust the grid density with the column slider to view more lenses at once or zoom in for fine detail. Fewer columns gives you larger previews for pixel-peeping. More columns lets you see the full lineup in one view for broad comparisons. Try it below — drag the slider to change the number of columns.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Navigate Discover entirely from the keyboard using the arrow keys. Up and down arrows cycle through available f-stops; left and right arrows step between shot slots within the current sub-test. These shortcuts work both on the grid page and inside the fullscreen viewer — letting you fly through test data without touching your mouse.

Step between different shots / frames within the current sub-test
In fullscreen mode the same shortcuts apply — ↑↓ change f-stop, ←→ change shot slot.
Hover-to-Scrub on Video Tests
When a test includes video, you can scrub through the clip just by hovering horizontally across any grid cell. Move your cursor left-to-right across the card and the video scrubs in real time — no clicking, no waiting for playback. It's the fastest way to preview motion behaviour across dozens of lenses without opening any of them. Try it on the interactive card below.

F-Stop & Frame Selection
Many tests include multiple f-stops per lens. Use the f-stop selector to see how optical behaviour changes as you stop down — flare resistance, bokeh shape, and sharpness all evolve across the aperture range. Some tests also include multiple frames — numbered buttons in the sub-test bar let you switch the entire grid to a different still for the same setup.

Fullscreen & Side-by-Side
Click any grid cell to open the image fullscreen for a detailed look. From fullscreen you can step through lenses, compare two images side by side, toggle frame guides and crop overlays, and scrub through video tests. It's designed for serious optical evaluation — the same tools available on lens detail pages, accessible directly from the grid.

Tier Access in Discover
Some grid cells may be gated behind a subscription tier — they'll appear blurred with a tier badge overlay. Free-tier lenses are always visible. Indie and Hollywood content requires the matching subscription, unless the lens is currently in rotation. Rotated lenses are marked with their rotation badge directly in the grid cell.
