CinePixel
Dynamic range mapping, noise calibration, and true sensor performance data. No marketing fluff.
The next generation approach to finding your next acquisition format.
What to Expect
The definitive camera sensor database
Full Sensor Database
Every major cinema and mirrorless camera body catalogued, specced, and searchable. Resolution, rolling shutter, moire patterns, and aliasing all measured and visualised.
Dynamic Range Tests
Precise stop-by-stop dynamic range measurements in every gamma and log curve, so you can compare usable latitude across cameras before you commit to a body.
Latitude Testing
Push and pull tests at every ISO, showing exactly how much shadow and highlight recovery each sensor can handle before it falls apart.
Noise Calibrations
Detailed noise profiling at every ISO and colour temperature. Temporal noise, fixed pattern noise, and chroma noise all isolated and compared.
Sensory Readouts
Full readout mode analysis. Sensor crop factors, readout speeds, and electronic shutter behaviour mapped across every recording format and frame rate.
Colour Chart Testing
Standardised colour chart captures under controlled lighting. Skin tone accuracy, colour separation, hue shifts, and saturation response all charted and compared.
Sensor Compare
Compare camera sensors side-by-side. Dynamic range, noise performance, colour science, and resolution all laid out so you can make informed decisions before committing to a body.
Sensor Discover
Browse and compare sensor characteristics across dozens of cameras at once. Filter by brand, sensor size, resolution, and performance metrics to find the perfect match.
What we do different across the Cine family. CineTraits, CineLux and CinePixel is powerful tooling, making it easier than ever to compare multiple camera bodies and lighting fixtures alongside lenses to find the perfect combination for your project.
CineLux and CinePixel will be available as separate subscription services. Purchase them individually or bundle all three together at a special rate on release. Pricing will follow the same strategy as CineTraits, scaled to each database, and both platforms will run our open access system, offering free data to everyone, just like we do on CineTraits.
CinePixel is being built by the same team behind CineTraits. Our commitment to objective, visual-first testing carries over to everything we do. More details will be shared as development progresses.
